We welcome out newest addition to the training program, Remington!

Remington is an one year old Anatolian Shepherd/ Great Pyrenees mix rescued through KC Pet Project! We do not know anything about his past prior to the shelter as he was brought in as a stray.

Since coming to the WBF facility, Remy has quickly worked himself into the routine. In between his daily training sessions he LOVES to wrestle and play with his canine friends Murphy and Jonah! Remy also enjoys his weekly outings to Home Depot where he gets to see his human friends who always greet him with yummy snacks!

Fun fact: Remy has double dewclaws on each back foot! Though rare, there are many Great Pyrenees born with this physical trait!

Our Other Dogs

Gunther is a one year old Labrador/Retriever mix.  He was adopted by a man who unfortunately hurt his hip and was unable to take care of Gunther any longer.

Ivan is a one year old, Plott Hound/Pointer mix.  He was found as a stray outside Belton, MO and was taken to the shelter but his family never came for him.

Janie is a yellow lab mix about two years old. She was found wandering on the beach by Jacksonville Animal Control.

Jonah is a 1 year old Shepherd/mix rescued through the Liberty Animal Shelter.

Josh is a 2 year old male yellow Labrador Retriever.  He came as an owner surrender.  His owner died unexpectedly, and his owner's brother couldn't keep the dog so he donated him.

Kiya is a 1 year old female mix.  We don't really know what she is, probably some mix of lab, doberman, and collie.  She was rescued from animal control as a young puppy by the London Sanctuary.

Lexi is a 2 year old female chocolate lab. She was donated as a puppy. Lexi loves to play ball and take long naps on the couch, a perfect combination for any warrior.

Meet Miss Mave!  She is a spunky one-year-old Weimaraner who is full of personality and sass!

We received Mave at a very young age of only 2 months.  Everyone here at Warriors' Best Friend has enjoyed watching her journey growing up in the program! Mave is very intelligent and attentive.  As soon as she hears the trainer grab the leash, she comes barreling down the stairs and sits patiently as the trainer puts it on! Mave is what we like to call an "all arounder".  She is sweet to all living things and just wants to be near her person at all times.

Mave loves playing with other dogs! One of her best friends is Boscoe, an American Bulldog/mix.  They can play for hours wrestling and sharing toys.  Every now and then we catch them chewing on the same bone! They are truly two peas in a pod! As for the cats around the facility, she is still working up the courage to say hi!
