Bosco is a one year old Boxer/Rhodesian Ridgeback mix.  We do have any information about Bosco’s background before he was brought to the shelter. It can only be assumed that Bosco was rescued from an unfit home because of his severe separation anxiety.  When the WBF trainer went to evaluate him, Bosco latched onto her leg and would not let go.  If someone came into the evaluation room and left; he would intently watch the door waiting for them to come back.  Because of the severity of his separation anxiety Bosco had to be put on a medication to help calm his nerves.  From what the trainer saw, she was skeptical at first as to whether he would make a good fit for WBF’s program.  As she spent more time with him she started to realize many of his amazing qualities.  He was very attentive and treat motivated, always wanted to be by someone’s side, and was one big teddy bear!  Seeing the potential in Bosco, the trainer decided to adopt him into Warriors’ Best Friend’s bootcamp training program.  Since then Bosco has been completely weaned off of his medication for separation anxiety and is one of our most promising service dogs in training!  Bosco has been a blessing to our program.  No matter how rough of a day you have, he will always get you to smile!  We look forward to continuing to watch him grow in his training and are even more excited for the day we find him his forever home.

Our Other Dogs

Lexi is a 2 year old female chocolate lab. She was donated as a puppy. Lexi loves to play ball and take long naps on the couch, a perfect combination for any warrior.

Meet Miss Mave!  She is a spunky one-year-old Weimaraner who is full of personality and sass!

We received Mave at a very young age of only 2 months.  Everyone here at Warriors' Best Friend has enjoyed watching her journey growing up in the program! Mave is very intelligent and attentive.  As soon as she hears the trainer grab the leash, she comes barreling down the stairs and sits patiently as the trainer puts it on! Mave is what we like to call an "all arounder".  She is sweet to all living things and just wants to be near her person at all times.

Mave loves playing with other dogs! One of her best friends is Boscoe, an American Bulldog/mix.  They can play for hours wrestling and sharing toys.  Every now and then we catch them chewing on the same bone! They are truly two peas in a pod! As for the cats around the facility, she is still working up the courage to say hi!

Meet Max!  He is a handsome one and a half year old Boxer/Terrier mix.  He was born and raised in the shelter while patiently waiting to find his forever home.

Moe is a 2 1/2 year old male chocolate lab.  Moe came from Florida Lab Rescue.  He was surrendered by his owner because he had too much energy for them.

Meet Nani!  She is a one year old Weimaraner Mix who was found and taken into the shelter as a stray; but that did not get her down! Nani is full of personality and excitement.

Nero is a year and a half hound mix . Nero is a sweet and relaxed pup who has a distinct ability to make fast-friends wherever he goes.
