Bosco is a one year old Boxer/Rhodesian Ridgeback mix.  We do have any information about Bosco’s background before he was brought to the shelter. It can only be assumed that Bosco was rescued from an unfit home because of his severe separation anxiety.  When the WBF trainer went to evaluate him, Bosco latched onto her leg and would not let go.  If someone came into the evaluation room and left; he would intently watch the door waiting for them to come back.  Because of the severity of his separation anxiety Bosco had to be put on a medication to help calm his nerves.  From what the trainer saw, she was skeptical at first as to whether he would make a good fit for WBF’s program.  As she spent more time with him she started to realize many of his amazing qualities.  He was very attentive and treat motivated, always wanted to be by someone’s side, and was one big teddy bear!  Seeing the potential in Bosco, the trainer decided to adopt him into Warriors’ Best Friend’s bootcamp training program.  Since then Bosco has been completely weaned off of his medication for separation anxiety and is one of our most promising service dogs in training!  Bosco has been a blessing to our program.  No matter how rough of a day you have, he will always get you to smile!  We look forward to continuing to watch him grow in his training and are even more excited for the day we find him his forever home.

Our Other Dogs

Meet Charlie Brown!  He is a 1 1/2-year-old Boxer/ Mastiff Mix.  When our trainer set out to find another dog for the program, Charlie Brown instantly caught her eye!

Chester is a two year old yellow lab. He came from a local rescue shelter.

Chinook is a 9 month old female black lab mix. She was found as a young puppy abandoned on the streets with her sister, Onyx.

My buddy and my service dog, Cooper was one day from being put down at a shelter.

Cowboy is a 2 year old Malinois/Lab mix.  Cowboy is a very sweet, mellow dog who loves to relax and be loved. He is still a little skinny but will gain weight quickly during training!

Coyote is almost 2 years old. He came from Putnam County Animal Control. His original owner was an elderly man who couldn't handle all of Coyote's puppy energy.

Depot is a one and a half year old Shepherd/Husky Mix.  Just a week at the shelter after he was brought in as a stray, Warriors' Best Friend's trainer Bella, adopted Depot.

Meet Fiona, also known as Princess Fiona! She is a beautiful 2-year-old Mastiff/ Mix.  Fiona's favorite things include playing with her buddy Vince, water and eating food!  Food being number one!
